Who uses the app
Commonplace is a private, single-user app. Only its owner, Hariprasad Doley, can sign in. There are no other users and no accounts for anyone else.
What Google data the app accesses
With the owner's permission, the app accesses the owner's Google Drive (to list, open, upload, rename, move, star, trash and delete his own files) and his Google email address (to confirm the correct account was connected).
How the data is used
Google Drive data is used only to show and manage the owner's files inside the app, at his request. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics or training any AI or machine-learning model, and it is never sold or shared with anyone.
How it is stored and protected
- Files go directly between the owner's device and Google Drive. The app does not keep copies of Drive files on any server.
- The lasting Google sign-in key is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) on the app's private server, which is protected by a login that only the owner can pass.
- Devices receive only short-lived access passes, kept in memory.
Removing access
The owner can disconnect Google Drive inside the app at any time, which cancels the access with Google and deletes the stored key. Access can also be removed at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Commonplace's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
